Johanna Waber is an associate in Debevoise’s Frankfurt office and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group.

She focuses on all financial regulatory matters relevant to the investment management and financial services industry including relevant developments regarding the German and EU financial regulatory framework, in particular the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) and the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

Ms. Waber advises national and international clients on a variety of matters, including regulatory compliance and reporting, delegation arrangements, change of control issues, structuring funds and fund marketing.

Ms. Waber studied law at the universities of Heidelberg and Paris (LL.M.). Prior to joining Debevoise in 2018, she was an associate in the financial services team of another international law firm and a senior associate in the funds and regulatory team of a major German law firm. Ms. Waber was admitted to the Frankfurt Bar in 2011. She is a German native speaker and is fluent in English and French.
