Jung Eun Choi is a corporate counsel and a member of the firm’s Financial Institutions Group. She advises U.S. and non-U.S. banks, bank holding companies and other financial institutions on a broad range of financial regulatory matters, including compliance with U.S. financial regulations, chartering and other strategic bank regulatory decisions, supervisory and enforcement actions, as well as transactional matters such as mergers and acquisitions. Her practice includes advice on the Bank Holding Company Act (including the Volcker Rule), the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, the Federal Reserve Act, the National Bank Act, the Change in Bank Control Act, the Dodd-Frank Act, Regulation W, governance, risk management and control and permissibility determinations. She has experience advising financial institutions in connection with regulatory applications and approvals from, and regulatory actions imposed by, federal banking regulators, including the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the New York State Department of Financial Services.The Best Lawyers in America recognized Ms. Choi on its “Ones to Watch” list in the area of Banking and Finance Law for 2025. Ms. Choi joined Debevoise in 2024. Prior to joining Debevoise, she was an associate at a leading international law firm in its New York office. She received a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2014, where she was a recipient of Scholar in Law Award and served as an associate editor of the Washington University Global Studies Law Review. She received a B.A. from Brown University in 2008. Ms. Choi is a member of the Bar of the State of New York. She is native in Korean.
