Kobie Allen is an associate in the Litigation Department, where he advises clients on complex disputes, regulatory matters, employment disputes, and internal investigations. Mr. Allen also has a robust pro bono practice, assisting with the representation of criminal defendants and advising non-profit organizations with commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
Mr. Allen joined Debevoise in 2023. He received his J.D. summa cum laude from Rutgers Law School (Camden) in 2023, where he graduated as salutatorian and was elected to the Order of the Coif. At Rutgers, Mr. Allen was selected to the inaugural class of Rayman L. Solomon Scholars, and served as an articles editor for the Rutgers University Law Review and as a Writing Fellow for Professor Sarah E. Ricks. Mr. Allen participated in the Veterans Advocacy Clinic, where he successfully co-argued a discharge upgrade hearing before the Naval Discharge Review Board. He was also a member of the 2021–22 James Hunter III Moot Court Program, where he and his partner advanced to the semifinal round of oral arguments and earned the Best Plaintiff’s Brief Award. During law school, Mr. Allen also interned for the Hon. Michael A. Shipp, U.S.D.J. at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Allen received his B.A. from Williams College in 2017, and was a visiting scholar at the American University of Cairo in 2015 and 2016.
