Experience

- An Asian construction joint venture in a dispute relating to the design and construction of a nuclear power plant.
- The Republic of Korea in securing a unanimous dismissal of all treaty claims brought by Schindler Holding AG, valued at more than $200 million, and obtaining an award of costs in a dispute concerning Schindler’s investment in a Korean elevator company.

Laith Najjar is an associate based in the London office. He is a member of the International Dispute Resolution Group, where his practice focuses on international arbitration, both commercial and investor-state. Mr. Najjar has a particular focus on disputes arising in the energy and natural resources and infrastructure sectors and has acted for a broad range of clients, including oil & gas majors, mining companies, contractors, agribusinesses, independent trading houses, financial institutions and state-owned entities, under most of the major arbitral rules as well as in the English High Court. His representations include acting for clients in a number of different jurisdictions and in disputes that have been governed by a variety of substantive laws. Mr. Najjar is recognised as a Leading Associate in international arbitration by The Legal 500 UK (2026), where clients describe him as “smart and quick to address clients’ various requests.” The guide further recommends him for his construction disputes practice. Mr. Najjar is also recognised as a Future Leader by Who’s Who Legal (2024) and has been identified as part of the “next generation of arbitration” counsel in London by Legal Business (2022).Mr. Najjar joined the firm in 2018 from another U.S. law firm in London.
