Lily Coad is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Data Strategy & Security Group.

Ms. Coad joined Debevoise in 2021. From 2022 to 2023, she clerked for the Hon. P. Kevin Castel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She received a J.D. magna cum laude from Cornell Law School in 2021, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. Ms. Coad was a publishing editor of the Cornell Law Review and a member of the First Amendment Clinic. She received a B.A. magna cum laude from Duke University in 2018.

Ms. Coad is the author of Compelling Code: A First Amendment Argument Against Requiring Political Neutrality in Online Content Moderation, 106 Cornell L. Rev. 457 (2021).
