Liza Burton is a corporate associate and member of the Restructuring Group and Liability Management & Special Situations team. Ms. Burton advises companies, sponsors, lenders and other parties across various industries on complex restructuring and insolvency matters, including chapter 11 cases, out-of-court liability management transactions and distressed mergers & acquisitions.
Ms. Burton joined Debevoise in 2026. Prior to that she was an associate at a leading international law firm. Ms. Burton received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, in 2015. She received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010.
Ms. Burton is a member of the Bar of the State of New York and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is fluent in Russian.
