Maryam Kanna is an associate in the Litigation Department.

Ms. Kanna joined Debevoise in 2022. From 2021 to 2022 she clerked for the Hon. Sidney H. Stein of the Southern District of New York. In 2021, Ms. Kanna received a J.D. magna cum laude from the Duke University School of Law, where she was a Mordecai Scholar, a notes editor for the Duke Law Journal, and a submissions editor for the American Journal of International Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from the College of William & Mary in 2014. Ms. Kanna is the author of Furthering Decolonization: Judicial Review of Colonial Criminal Laws, 70 Duke L.J. 411 (2020).

Ms. Kanna is a member of the New York Bar and is admitted to practice before the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is proficient in French and fluent in colloquial Arabic.
