Partners Luke Dembosky and Jim Pastore Named to Cybersecurity Docket’s 2018 “Incident Response 30” List

20 April 2018

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP partners Luke Dembosky and Jim Pastore have been recognized in Cybersecurity Docket’s “Incident Response 30,” the publication’s biannual list featuring the 30 top data breach response lawyers. Debevoise was one of very few firms to have more than one lawyer named to this year’s list.

According to Cybersecurity Docket, the “Incident Response 30” is a “list of the 30 best and brightest Incident Response legal and compliance professionals in the industry.” It honors 30 incident response attorneys and compliance professionals “who not only have the right stuff to manage a data breach response, but are also the kind of professionals critical to have on speed-dial when the inevitable data breach occurs.”

In announcing this year’s “Incident Response 30,” Bruce Carton, the publication’s editor, said “I believe that the 30 men and women we selected for this year’s Incident Response 30 are true leaders in the field of incident response who are worthy of this special recognition.”

Mr. Dembosky, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Security and a 14-year veteran cybercrimes prosecutor, is a cybersecurity and litigation partner based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is Co-Chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice and a member of the White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group. His practice focuses on cybersecurity incident preparation and response, related internal investigations, civil litigation and regulatory defense, as well as national security issues.

Mr. Pastore, a former cybercrimes prosecutor based in the Southern District of New York, is a litigation partner and a member of the firm’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice and Intellectual Property Litigation Group. His practice focuses on privacy and cybersecurity issues. He is recognized by The Legal 500 US (2017) for his cybersecurity work and, in 2017, appeared on Benchmark Litigation’s “Under 40 Hotlist,” which highlights the most promising talent in the 40 and younger age range. He was previously named to Cybersecurity Docket’s inaugural “Incident Response 30” list in 2016.

Both Mr. Dembosky and Mr. Pastore were named “Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Trailblazers” by The National Law Journal in 2016.

Last year, Debevoise was recognized by the FT Innovative Lawyers Report for North America 2017 as “Highly Commended” in the Driving Value category. The report specifically highlighted the firm’s Protocol to Promote Cybersecurity in International Arbitration.
