Debevoise Partners Matthew Biben and Mark Goodman Address Financial Services Disputes Laws and Regulations in New Guide

Debevoise & Plimpton partners Matthew L. Biben and Mark P. Goodman have authored a chapter addressing financial services disputes in the newly released International Comparative Legal Guide to: Financial Services Disputes Laws and Regulations 2019.

The chapter covers common issues in financial services disputes laws and regulations, including bringing a claim—initial considerations, before commencing proceedings, progressing the case and post trial—in 21 jurisdictions.

Mr. Biben is a litigation partner, co-leader of the firm’s Banking Industry Group, and member of the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group. His practice is focused on the expert negotiations and litigation of complex and diverse regulatory and enforcement matters on behalf of both individuals and organizations, with a concentration on matters related to financial institutions and complex situations involving the government.

Mr. Goodman is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group, a senior member of its White Collar & Regulatory Defense Group, the leader of the firm’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice, and spent six years as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. He is a seasoned trial lawyer who represents clients in a broad variety of matters, with emphasis on complex civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and internal investigations. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
