Debevoise & Plimpton LLP litigation partners Andrew Levine and Kara Brockmeyer will discuss current developments in managing anti-corruption issues and investigations at the Latin Lawyer GIR Live 7th Annual Anti-Corruption & Investigations Conference on October 17th in São Paulo, Brazil. For the seventh consecutive year, Mr. Levine will serve as co-chair of the event.
Mr. Levine, who focuses on white collar and regulatory defense, internal investigations and a broad range of complex commercial litigation, will moderate a panel on the era of corporate governance. The panel will discuss best practices for executing the respective roles of boards and management, how to ensure and nurture effective and transparent relationships and the boundaries of ethical and legal perspectives given the role of various corporate governing bodies.
Ms. Brockmeyer, who is based in Debevoise’s Washington D.C. office and focuses on representing companies and individuals in anti-corruption, fraud, and related government and internal investigations and is the former head of the SEC’s FCPA Unit, will speak on a panel about managing potential tensions between the interest of companies and their employees in government investigations.
