Debevoise’s International Dispute Resolution Group Receives Jus Mundi’s “Arbitration Team of the Year: Transparency Award”

20 December 2021

The Debevoise & Plimpton LLP International Dispute Resolution Group has received the Arbitration Team of the Year: Transparency Award from Jus Mundi. The award recognizes the group for its outstanding experience, prominence and leadership in international arbitration and highlights its numerous achievements over the past year. Jus Mundi, a leading legal-tech company, provides lawyers with an innovative search engine for efficiently conducting comprehensive international law and arbitration research.

In receiving the award, Jus Mundi profiled litigation partners Dietmar W. Prager and Ina Popova who have both played a key role in enhancing transparency in the arbitral process. Dr. Prager is an officer of the IBA Arbitration Committee and in 2019-20 served as co-chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee’s Subcommittee on the International Commercial Arbitration Case Law, which collects publicly available international commercial arbitration decisions and awards from all major jurisdictions in the world. While Dr. Prager served as co-chair of the Subcommittee, the IBA and Jus Mundi created a joint partnership to make the arbitration awards available to the public at large on a platform provided by Jus Mundi. Ms. Popova is a member of the IBA Arbitration Committee’s Subcommittee on the International Commercial Arbitration Case Law and a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

The Group’s commitment to transparency in this arena was exemplified recently at the 41st ICC Institute Annual Conference where partner David W. Rivkin unveiled a novel decision-tree approach to arbitration made possible by the enhanced use of technology. Further in this area, Group Co-Chair and partner Mark W. Friedman contributed to the ICC’s recent guidance identifying ways to minimize COVID-19-related delays in accordance with the ICC Arbitration Rules.
