Debevoise & Plimpton LLP partner Rachel Ehrlich Albanese and associate Emily MacKay of the firm’s Restructuring Group authored an article entitled, “1) Read the Statute, 2) Read the Statute, 3) Read the…Local Rules!*” for the Creditor Rights Coalition.

The article explores how the local rules and procedures governing mediation in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern District of New York and the District of New Jersey impact the practice, including in connection with issues such as confidentiality, conflicts, and compensation.

Rachel Ehrlich Albanese is a partner based in the New York office, Co-Chair of the Restructuring Group and a member of the Liability Management & Special Situations team. Her practice focuses on advising debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, equity holders, distressed asset purchasers, and other stakeholders across a wide range of complex restructuring matters, including chapter 11 cases, out-of-court workouts, and cross-border insolvency proceedings.

Emily MacKay is a corporate associate and a member of the firm’s Restructuring Group and Liability Management & Special Situations team. She regularly advises investors, companies, sponsors and other parties-in-interest in out-of-court restructurings, chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and distressed mergers & acquisitions.
