Sarah Lee is a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group in Hong Kong. Her practice focuses on investor-State arbitration, commercial arbitration and public international law. She regularly represents corporations and sovereign States in investor-State and commercial disputes and advises clients on public international law issues arising from cross-border disputes across a range of industries, including energy, mining, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and financial services.
Ms. Lee has represented clients in proceedings under the ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, HKIAC and AAA Rules and advised on enforcement-related issues arising from matters involving jurisdictions across Asia, North and Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Her experience spans both treaty and commercial arbitration, with a particular focus on complex cross-border disputes.
Ms. Lee joined the firm’s New York office in 2016 and transferred to the Hong Kong office in 2025.
Ms. Lee is active in the international arbitration community. She serves as Young ITA Co-Chair for Asia (2026–2028) and is a member of the HK45 Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center (SVAMC) and as Co-Chair of SVAMC’s Program Committee. She previously served on the Program Committees for the 2025 American Society of International Law (ASIL) Abroad Meeting and the 2022 ASIL Annual Meeting. She served as a teaching assistant and guest lecturer for Mark W. Friedman’s International Arbitration course at Yale Law School.
Ms. Lee writes and speaks on international arbitration and public international law. Most recently, she co-authored The Asia-Pacific Arbitration Review 2027: Investment Treaty Arbitration, published by Global Arbitration Review.
Ms. Lee received a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2016, where she was an executive editor of the Harvard International Law Journal Online. She received a B.A., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Columbia University in 2013.
Ms. Lee is admitted to the New York Bar and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong. She is a native speaker of French and Korean and has working knowledge of Spanish and Mandarin.
