Sebastian Dutz is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. His practice focuses on international arbitration and public international law.

Mr. Dutz has an active pro bono practice on both domestic and public international law issues, including representing a plaintiff with co-counsel the Center for Justice and Accountability in an Alien Tort Statute and Torture Victims Protection Act civil suit against the former Secretary of Defense of Sri Lanka for his alleged involvement in the attack, torture, and murder of a journalist.

Mr. Dutz joined Debevoise in 2018. He received a J.D. from New York University School of Law magna cum laude in 2018, where he was a student editor of the American Journal of International Law. He received a B.A. with High Distinction from the University of Toronto in 2015.

Mr. Dutz is a member of the New York Bar, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
