Suzanne Zakaria is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense practice. Her practice focuses on white collar defense, and government and internal investigations. She is also a member of the firm’s Supreme Court and Appellate group. Ms. Zakaria maintains an active pro bono practice, which involves representing indigent clients in federal criminal court, including before the U.S. Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ms. Zakaria joined Debevoise in 2019. Between 2021 and 2024, she served as a law clerk to the Hon. Amy Berman Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and to the Hon. Andre Mathis of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  

Ms. Zakaria received a J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2019, where she was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and a Global Law Scholar. She received a B.A. cum laude from The Pennsylvania State University’s Schreyer Honors College in 2014.

Ms. Zakaria is a member of the District of Columbia and New York Bars. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Sixth, Seventh, and Eleventh Circuits; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
