Yehuda Halpert is a tax counsel and a member of the firm’s Investment Management, Private Equity Groups, as well as a member of the Alternative Asset and Secondary Investment Groups. His practice focuses on the representation of investors in connection with the tax and economic aspects of their primary private equity investments, including U.S. and non-U.S. buyout, growth capital, infrastructure and hedge. Mr. Halpert also advises clients in connection with secondary transactions, including traditional sales and purchases of fund interests, “stapled” primary and secondary transactions as well as complex secondary transactions including fund restructurings, recapitalizations and GP-led tender offers. His clients include HarbourVest Partners, The Ford Foundation, Liberty Mutual Insurance, The Nature Conservancy, Prudential Insurance Company, PSP Investments, Sequoia Capital, Pantheon Ventures and Zurich Alternative Asset Management as well as Middle Eastern and Asian sovereign wealth funds and family offices.
Mr. Halpert joined the firm in 2006. He received a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2000 where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a B.A. summa cum laude from Yeshiva University in 1997. He is a member of the Bar of New York.
