Colby Smith was a litigator in the firm’s Washington, D.C office.
Mr. Smith joined Debevoise in 1988, became a partner in 1996, and retired at the beginning of 2019. He received B.S. degrees magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1979 and 1980. He received his M.A. in Philosophy from Columbia University in 1984, where he was a President’s Fellow. He earned his J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law in 1987, where he was a senior editor of the Law Review and a Stone Scholar. He is a member of the bar in the District of Columbia and New York.
