Emily Lam is an international counsel of the firm who has over 15 years of experience in a broad range of commercial litigation matters. She has acted on behalf of a wide range of clients including financial institutions, state-owned PRC companies, major international corporations, listed companies and high net worth individuals on matters including contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, internet fraud and regulatory investigations. In addition, she has represented clients in dealing with law enforcement agencies and regulators such as the Commercial Crime Bureau, the Independent Commission Against Corruption and the Securities and Futures Commission.
Apart from commercial litigation, Ms. Lam also advises on contentious regulatory matters. Her clients comprise investment banks, financial institutions and listed companies, and she has advised them on issues relating to sponsorship’s obligations, disclosure of inside information, systems and controls, disciplinary proceedings and generally on regulatory compliance and market misconduct issues. Ms. Lam has conducted internal investigations for clients which involved reviews of internal systems and controls in the context of Hong Kong regulatory requirements, and she has represented clients in relation to investigations by the Securities and Futures Commission, and on matters before the Takeover and Mergers Panel.
Ms. Lam was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1998 and she speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
