Franklin L. Mitchell is a tax partner and a member of the firm’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Group.

Mr. Mitchell’s practice covers a broad range of executive compensation and employee benefits matters. He advises clients on disclosure, governance, taxation, design and negotiation of executive compensation agreements and arrangements as well as the executive compensation and employee benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions; pension investment and ERISA fiduciary matters (with significant experience on these issues in the private equity, asset management, insurance and real estate sectors); private equity compensation and governance matters at both the upper tier and portfolio company levels; and employment law and related issues. Mr. Mitchell is recognized by The Legal 500 US (2023).

Mr. Mitchell joined Debevoise in 2016. He received a J.D. cum laude from Fordham University School of Law in 2009 and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law in 2010. He received a B.A. from Emerson College in 2000.
