Hong Kong and Singapore Permit Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration

Hong Kong has amended its laws to expressly allow third-party funding (“TPF”) in international arbitration and related litigation.
Similar developments in Singapore, Paris and Dubai earlier this year reflect the increasing popularity of TPF.
Efforts to regulate TPF will have practical implications for parties considering TPF in international arbitration.
