Isabelle Glimcher is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. Her practice focuses on public international law, international arbitration, and transnational litigation. Ms. Glimcher also advises clients on business and human rights issues, with a focus on supply chain governance and forced labor.Ms. Glimcher also maintains an active and diverse pro bono practice, assisting individuals seeking legal status in the U.S., drafting research and recommendations for the UN Business and Human Rights Committee and the Public International Law & Policy Group, representing a detained Cambodian journalist before the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, and advising major international NGOs on varied legal issues. Ms. Glimcher is also a member of the Pro Bono Advocates Council for Volunteers of Legal Service.Ms. Glimcher joined Debevoise in 2020. Before joining Debevoise, she was the Masiyiwa-Bernstein fellow at the Center for Business & Human Rights at NYU Stern School of Business. Ms. Glimcher received a J.D. from NYU School of Law in 2019, where she was a managing editor of the NYU Journal of International Law & Politics and an Institute for International Law and Justice Scholar. She received an M.Sc. from Oxford University in 2014, and an A.B. cum laude from Harvard University in 2013.Ms. Glimcher is the author of “Purchasing Power: How the U.S. Government Can Use Federal Procurement to Uphold Human Rights,” published through the NYU Stern Center for Business & Human Rights, and “Arbitration of Human and Labor Rights: The Bangladesh Experience,” 52 N.Y.U. Journal of International Law & Politics 231 (2019). She is also a co-author of the Just Security “Symposium on U.S. support for the International Criminal Court’s Trust Fund for Victims,” (February, 2023) and “Addressing ESG Considerations in the M&A Context,” a chapter in the latest edition of GLI Mergers & Acquisitions, published by Global Legal Insights (July, 2022).
