Louis Akra is a tax associate and a member of the firm's Executive Compensation & Benefits Group.
Mr. Akra joined Debevoise in 2024. He received a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2024. At Cornell, Mr. Akra served as a student-practioner in the school's securities law clinic, where he drafted an SEC comment letter addressing amendments to the current FINRA arbitration procedure and provided free education on investment fraud to the largely "Southern Tier" region of upstate New York.
He received a B.A. from Florida Atlantic University magna cum laude in 2021. Mr. Akra previously served as a law clerk for Senator Mike Lee in connection with the senior senator's responsibilities on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. He also interned for the Office of Solicitor General Scott Stewart at the Mississippi Attorney General's Office.
Mr. Akra is fluent in Spanish.
