Marissa Baron is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group.
Ms. Baron’s practice includes litigation and counselling on trademark, false advertising, copyright, defamation and antitrust matters. She has litigated cases in both state and federal court, before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and before the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau.
Ms. Baron also advises clients on intellectual property and antitrust matters in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other corporate and commercial transactions covering a broad range of industries, including entertainment, software, food and beverage and other technologies. Ms. Baron also devotes a significant amount of time to pro bono representation of criminal defendants, including individuals on death row in Alabama.
Ms. Baron is a member of the International Trademark Association’s Famous and Well-Known Marks Committee.
Ms. Baron joined Debevoise in 2019. She received her J.D. cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law in 2019 and an M.B.A. from St. John’s University in 2019. Ms. Baron was an associate managing editor of the St. John’s Law Review. While in law school, she served as a law clerk at Apple Inc., Estee Lauder and Geico. Ms. Baron received a B.S. magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Binghamton University in 2014 in biochemistry and integrative molecular neuroscience.
