Michiko Wongso is an associate in the firm’s Data Strategy & Security Group.
Ms. Wongso advises companies on a wide range of data protection and cybersecurity issues, as well as broader digital regulatory, operational resilience, and artificial intelligence–related matters.
Her experience includes advising on compliance with the EU and UK GDPR, operational resilience requirements (including under DORA), and data protection and operational resilience provisions in commercial arrangements. She also advises on regulatory compliance in the context of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Ms. Wongso regularly advises on breach response, including large-scale, complex, multi-jurisdictional incidents, and has assisted with cross-border regulatory investigations arising from data security issues. She has also acted for clients in litigation involving complex data protection and cybersecurity matters.
Ms. Wongso joined Debevoise in 2024. Prior to joining the firm, she trained and qualified at a large international law firm in London. She received an LL.B. (First Class Honours) from Durham University in 2019 and subsequently completed the LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management at The University of Law in 2020 (with Distinction).
Ms. Wongso was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2022. She is also fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.
