Morgan Davis is a litigation partner based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group. Named a Next Generation Partner and a Rising Star by The Legal 500 US (2024-2025), her practice focuses on complex civil litigation, including corporate governance litigation, securities and derivative litigation, and contract disputes. 

Ms. Davis represents public and private companies, financial institutions, asset managers and boards of directors in state and federal courts. Ms. Davis also has significant trial experience. She helped secure a complete victory for a major manufacturer in a federal bench trial in Maryland defeating false advertising and patent infringement claims. She defended a prominent financial services firm in a three-month FINRA arbitration involving alleged software trade secret misappropriation, after which the panel awarded the plaintiff less than 0.5% of the damages sought. She represented a major bank in a five-week civil trial involving alleged participation in a Ponzi scheme and subsequent appeal, resulting in dismissal of all claims against her client. Ms. Davis also represented subsidiaries of a global construction company in litigation arising from a multi-billion-dollar construction project that culminated in a two-week trial in New York state court.

Ms. Davis joined Debevoise in 2016. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for Judge Claire C. Cecchi in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from 2015 to 2016.

Ms. Davis received a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2015, where she was co-editor-in-chief of the Harvard Human Rights Journal. She received a B.A. magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College in 2011.
