Debevoise & Plimpton LLP partners Luke Dembosky and John Gleeson share their expertise in promoting a global approach to cybercrime investigations by contributing to The Cybercrime Investigation Body of Knowledge, which marks its global launch today.
The Cybercrime Investigation Body of Knowledge, published by the CIBOK Editorial Committee sponsored by Trend Micro, was developed in pursuit of a common set of standards for investigating cybercrimes and is the product of experienced international law enforcement and industry experts. The objective of the CIBOK is to coordinate and demonstrate accepted practices in cybercrime investigations, including the systematic management of cybercrime investigative resources and staff.
John Gleeson, who was a federal judge for 22 years before joining Debevoise, authored the Foreword for the guide, while cybersecurity and litigation partner Luke Dembosky, a former veteran cybercrime prosecutor and Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the U.S. Department of Justice, contributed a chapter on incident response. With Mr. Gleeson’s practice focused on investigations, white collar defense and complex civil litigation and Mr. Dembosky’s on cybersecurity incident preparation and response and related litigation, each brings a wealth of experience to these emerging issues.
Debevoise’s global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team uses a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to help clients navigate critical cybersecurity and data privacy issues. The team leverages its unique capabilities and range of experience to address the forensic and legal aftermath of cyber incidents, advises clients on how to avoid or mitigate cybersecurity and data privacy risks, and represents them in related litigation and regulatory matters.
