Debevoise & Plimpton LLP today announced Matt Dickman has joined the firm’s Funds/Investment Management Group as an international counsel in London.
Mr. Dickman advises on the formation, management and reorganization of private investment funds, as well as secondary transactions, regulatory compliance and internal economic and governance matters. He also has significant experience advising on the sale of GP stakes.
Mr. Dickman joins the firm on 6th August. He was previously a partner at an international law firm in San Francisco.
Geoffrey Kittredge, partner and chair of the European Funds/Investment Management Group at Debevoise, comments: “Matt has proven himself amongst the most promising leaders in the current generation of funds lawyers. His experience advising funds on both sides of the Atlantic over a number of years will be a significant benefit to our clients. As we see some trends from the U.S. continue to develop in Europe, Matt’s perspective on both markets will be of particular relevance. He also brings valuable recent experience advising technology and venture capital funds.”
John W. Rife III, partner in the Funds/Investment Management Group at Debevoise, comments: “Matt is an outstanding lawyer, and I’m looking forward to working alongside him. 2018 has been a busy year as our clients innovate and grow. Adding Matt’s experience and know-how ensures that we can continue to provide cutting-edge advice as the market evolves.”
Mr. Dickman joins Debevoise’s team in Europe at a time of growth for the practice. It follows the additions of Patricia Volhard and Simon Witney to the team last year, and the recent promotions of John W. Rife III to partner and of Jin-Hyuk Jang to international counsel.
Matt Dickman comments: “I’m excited to be joining the premier funds practice at Debevoise. The team combines powerful knowledge of the global funds market with rigorous strategic advice, helping its clients anticipate both opportunities and pitfalls in forming and managing their funds. With its distinctive collaborative culture, Debevoise delivers unparalleled client service. I’m looking forward to playing my part in the continued success of the team.”
