Debevoise Advises UPC in the Transfer of Personal Lines Business in Four States to HCI

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is advising United Insurance Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: UIHC) (“UPC”) in a proposed transaction in which UPC would transfer its personal lines business in Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island to HCI Group, Inc. (NYSE: HCI), better enabling UPC  to focus on developing its specialty commercial property business. The transaction is the subject of an agreement in principle that UPC and HCI announced on December 17, 2020.  HCI, a leading InsurTech company, has operations in insurance, real estate and software development.
