Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announced today that Matthew Pincus has returned to the firm’s London office as an international counsel and a member of the firm’s Tax Group, primarily focusing on the tax aspects of private investment funds and secondary transactions.
Mr. Pincus brings to the firm deep experience advising clients on U.S. tax issues associated with the formation of and investments in private equity and other alternative asset funds, as well regularly representing clients in fund secondary transactions, including portfolio sales, GP-led transactions, fund restructurings and preferred equity financings.
Mr. Pincus originally joined Debevoise in 2011, advising a wide range of clients, with a specific focus on the private funds sector. His arrival marks the latest expansion of Debevoise’s Tax Group in London, following the promotion of Patrick Fasoro to international counsel in 2021, and the arrival of Jenny Wheater as an international counsel in 2020.
