Experience
Camila Amaral Surcan is an associate and member of the firm’s Securities and Latin America Groups. Ms. Amaral Surcan has experience representing U.S. and Brazilian public and privately-held companies in cross-border and domestic corporate transactions, including large debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture and finance transactions involving U.S., Latin American and European targets and private equity fund formation.
Ms. Amaral Surcan joined Debevoise in 2011. She received an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law in 2006 and an LL.B. from the University of São Paulo School of Law, Brazil, in 2002. Prior to joining Debevoise, Ms. Amaral Surcan worked at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York from 2006 to 2011, and at Pinheiro Guimarães – Advogados in São Paulo from 2001 to 2005.
Ms. Amaral Surcan is a member of the New York State bar and the São Paulo State chapter of the Brazilian bar. She is fluent in Portuguese and has basic knowledge of Spanish.
