On February 13, 2019, a new version of last year’s Defending American Security from Kremlin Aggression Act of 2018 (“DASKA”) was introduced in the United Senates Senate.
Among other measures, DASKA 2019 continues to propose authorizing sanctions against Russian politicians and oligarchs, financial institutions, energy projects, cyber activities and dealings in Russian sovereign debt.
DASKA 2019 also requires numerous Russia-related reports to Congress, including an update to last year’s report on Russian oligarchs and parastatal entities.
