17 February 2021

Once again, the Intellectual Property Litigation practice of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has ranked in the gold band for the United States and New York in the annual World Trademark Review 1000. WTR’s 2021 edition stated that Debevoise “is a force to be reckoned with in the trademark field,” known for its stellar litigation practice, and recognized three partners for their outstanding capabilities:

  • David Bernstein, chair of the practice, ranked in the gold band and is described as, “one of the world’s foremost problem solvers when it comes to brand and business-threatening matters”. WTR states that he “does top work on complex, multi-jurisdictional trademark disputes and is a must if you need the absolute best in trademark advice and counselling.”
  • Megan Bannigan, promoted to the silver band, is described as having “deep substantive knowledge married to a practical approach and is not intimidated by the most challenging cases or counterparties.”
  • Jeremy Feigelson, ranked in the bronze band, is described as “a seasoned trademark, copyright and antitrust litigator with value-adding know-how in the areas of data and privacy.”

Debevoise has a highly successful Intellectual Property Litigation Group, widely recognized by clients and adversaries alike as one of the strongest practices of its kind. This past year, Law360 named the group 2020 IP Practice Group of the Year and Mr. Bernstein as an Intellectual Property MVP.

The Group handles a wide variety of cases, including trademark, trade dress and advertising disputes; copyright matters in media and entertainment; right of publicity issues; and unfair competition and trade secret cases. Many of the firm’s cases have cross-border components, and it has deep experience across a wide range of industries.
