Sol Czerwonko is a litigation senior associate in the firm’s New York office who focuses her practice on cross-border litigation and international arbitration. She is a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution and Latin America Practice Groups.
Ms. Czerwonko is recognized within the legal community as one of the top international lawyers of her generation and has received over a dozen awards and recognitions for her professional and academic achievements, pro bono work, and service to the community. For instance, the American Bar Association granted her the “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers” award, which recognizes attorneys across the U.S. who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, leadership, and service to the legal profession. Moreover, Who’s Who Legal recognized her as a Future Leader in international arbitration (2024–2026) and The Legal 500 (2025) client testimonials have described her as “extremely talented and a rising star.” Ms. Czerwonko has also been ranked by Chambers Latin America (2026–2027) and Chambers Global (2026), with client testimonials noting that “Sol Czerwonko is spectacular. She is like a machine, she has everything under control and is very collaborative.”
Ms. Czerwonko’s recent representations include international commercial arbitrations involving complex contractual disputes, investor-State arbitrations under bilateral investment treaties, and high-stakes shareholder litigation. She has experience advising clients across the Americas and representing parties in proceedings under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Notably, Ms. Czerwonko has successfully represented YPF, the largest energy producer in Argentina, defeating claims for roughly $15 billion in U.S. district and appellate courts. She has also successfully represented the Mexican subsidiary of a global company in an ICC arbitration arising out of contractual disputes related to the termination of two long-term contracts, obtaining a fully favorable award of over $125 million. Ms. Czerwonko also has an active pro bono practice focused on helping individuals from underserved Latin American communities in the U.S. In recognition of her outstanding pro bono work, Ms. Czerwonko received Her Justice’s 2023 Commitment to Justice Award.
In addition, Ms. Czerwonko holds several leadership positions. She was selected as an Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow (2026–2027), an International Chamber of Commerce YAAF Representative for North America (2026–2028), and an Advisory Board Member of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation (2024–2026). She is also regularly invited as a guest lecturer at top schools, including New York University Law School and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
Ms. Czerwonko is admitted to practice law in New York and Argentina. She is also admitted to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a graduate of New York University Law School, where she was awarded the Dean’s Graduate Award, a merit-based tuition award granted to master’s students who demonstrated significant academic promise and achievement. She is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
