Debevoise & Plimpton has won the M&A Deal of the Year category at the InsuranceAsia News Awards for Excellence 2022.

The awards celebrate the best firms in the Asia Pacific (re)insurance market, and are designed to recognize the best in the industry for their pioneering efforts, innovation and commitment.

The Debevoise team won the M&A Deal of the Year category for its work with AIA in the purchase of Blue Cross, a leading Hong Kong general insurer, and an associated 15-year bancassurance agreement between Blue Cross and the Bank of East Asia Bank.

The Debevoise team advising AIA was led by partner Edwin Northover and included international counsel Jan Buschmann, and associates Josephine Chen and Monisha D'Souza.
