Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is advising Steven Cohen and Cohen Private Ventures in the $2.4 billion acquisition of the Mets from Sterling Equities and the Wilpon and Katz families. For more information, see the press release.

Mr. Cohen is the founder of the hedge fund Point72 Asset Management and a lifelong Mets fan who previously owned an 8 percent stake in the team. Sterling Equities, co-founded by Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz, is a diversified, family-run group of companies. Its portfolio is focused on holdings in real estate, sports, and media in the New York area.
